Agate

Agate covers a lot of ground, and this collection reflects that. Moss agate with its green dendritic inclusions, flower agate with pale blooms scattered through pink, blue lace agate in soft bands, black agate polished to a mirror, tree agate, peacock agate, and volcanic agate carved into things that are frankly quite strange.

Because agate forms in layers, it takes a cut beautifully. Most of the pieces here are chosen for what the cut reveals, so expect a lot of hearts, spheres and freeforms where the banding is the whole point, and a fair number of druzy pockets where a hollow has been opened up to show the crystal growth inside.

Sizes run from small palm stones to a 1.26kg bookend and a 2kg carved piece on a custom stand. Prices reflect that spread, and every item is weighed and photographed individually so you know exactly what is coming.

In crystal tradition agate has long been regarded as a steadying, grounding stone, one of the reasons it turns up so often in everyday carry pieces.
