Fluorite
Almost everything in this collection is a tower, and that is deliberate. Fluorite cuts into tall pieces better than most stones, and leaving the top edge raw while polishing the body gives you the colour banding down the length and a rough, sparkling crown on top.
The colour range is the draw. Green through purple through clear, often all three in one piece, sometimes with blue feathering running through the middle. Transparent material lets the light straight through, which is worth positioning near a window. A few pieces carry pyrite inclusions, and there is a self-standing slab and a carved buddha in here as well.
Sizes run from around 140g up to a 1.69kg tower with raw edges and druzy. Every one is weighed and photographed individually because the banding is different in each and that is really the whole point of buying fluorite.
Traditionally kept for focus and clear thinking, which is why fluorite so often ends up on a desk rather than a mantelpiece.
