Jasper

Jasper is a family rather than a single stone, and the range here shows it: ocean jasper with its orb patterns, red jasper in deep brick tones, kambaba with dark green swirls, bumblebee in yellow and black, dragon blood, Picasso, polychrome, fruit, creek and kiwi jasper.

Because it is opaque and hard, jasper is a carver's stone, and much of what is here has been worked into something: elephants, scorpions, crabs with metal bodies, hearts mounted on stands, palm stones, points and spheres. If you like crystals that look like objects rather than specimens, this is the collection to browse.

In crystal tradition jasper is regarded as a grounding, steadying stone, and red jasper in particular has long been called a stone of endurance. It is also the most hard-wearing material in the shop, which makes it a sensible choice for anything that will be handled daily.

Every piece is weighed, measured and photographed on its own. Hand-picked in Adelaide and posted anywhere in Australia.
