Moonstone
A small collection with real range in it. Peach moonstone in warm apricot tones, black moonstone in smoky grey, dyed pink moonstone carrying a blue flash, and classic white with the milky sheen the stone is named for.
Shapes here lean towards the decorative: hearts both loose and mounted on custom stands, freeforms up to 471g, moon carvings, palm stones and a bowl. Moonstone is softer than quartz, so it is generally worked into display pieces rather than things that get carried around in a pocket.
The sheen, properly called adularescence, is a light effect rather than a colour, and it only shows from certain angles. Every listing here is photographed from the angle where it shows, and weights and dimensions are given so you can judge the size properly.
In crystal tradition moonstone is associated with intuition and cycles, and it is one of the stones most often given as a gift for a new beginning.
